Itinerary
Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate
Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass, visit Ait Ben Haddou's kasbah, and continue to Ouarzazate, Morocco's gateway to the desert and home to its well-known film studios.
Ouarzazate → Dades Valley → Todra Gorge
Drive through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley, known for its kasbahs and dramatic rock formations, then on to the towering walls of the Todra Gorge before continuing toward the desert's edge.
Erg Chebbi Dunes — Camel Trek & Desert Camp
Arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon and trade your vehicle for a camel to cross into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset. Overnight at a desert camp with dinner under the stars and an early wake-up for sunrise.
Merzouga → Marrakech
After sunrise over the dunes, begin the return journey to Marrakech, retracing the mountain route with a stop for lunch along the way.
